What's the difference between infant, toddler and child seats?

Rear-facing infant seats should be used for infants up to 22 pounds. Toddler safety seats are approved for children up to 40 pounds. If your child weighs more than 40 pounds, you should reserve a child booster seat. Due to liability issues, personnel are not permitted to install child safety seats into vehicles for customers. However, upon request, an instruction sheet or booklet on the proper installation of the child safety will be provided. Other questions regarding installation should be addressed directly with the rental location. It is the driver's responsibility to comply with all applicable seat belt and child restraint safety laws.
